Except as noted herein, all of the Extreme Event game materials (“Game Materials”) (electronic and printed versions) on this website are copyrighted by the NAS with all rights reserved. You are permitted to download and use the Game Materials for your personal use. You may not copy, reprint, sell, or otherwise distribute copies of the game. Some portions of the Game Materials are customizable; such portions may be customized as noted. No other alterations to the Game Materials are permitted, including removal of sound effect attribution, copyright, or trademark notices. The sound effects files provided are not owned by the NAS, are made available for use only in connection with the Extreme Event game by license, and are provided on an “as is” basis.

If you have completed the official NAS Extreme Event Facilitator Certification Program, you are permitted to charge for your personal time in organizing and facilitating game sessions using the Game Materials. Charging for the use of Game Materials is prohibited.

The “National Academies” refers collectively to the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Medicine.
